(Grant it's ok if u arrive late because of ur trip) 4/13-Grant's house for t-shirts from 12:00-? 4/14-Emily's house for bake sale from 2:00-7:00 or 6:00 CITY-STATE TIME-BY MARIAM4/2 I don't think that we should be talking about dates for meetings so much anymore. since we always have to consult with our parents all the time... we'll just write on the wiki when we're free instead of talking about it during city-state time. we should be studying for every test too. we might get an award on our poster for greatest average. so let's quiz each other not just on our mid-greece quiz but also for our wordly wise! maybe that's included in our city-state avrege. u never know... she took the averege for Star Fisher!
STUDYING FOR THE MID GREECE QUIZ-BY MARIAM4/2
All of chios should know at least 3 sections of the study guide. the mid greece quiz is in 3 days. if everyone knows at least one thing 2day... then we'll have a day for each of the other sections and an extra day for review. Comprehende??? (that means uderstand???" in espanol)

Chios page at Wikipedia The population of Chios is about 52,290 people (as of 2001) with 350 sq miles as an area. Its main agricultural products are mastic, olives, grapes, wine, olive oil, and figs. A mastic plant produces a hard resin-substance which is used for baking. It is also used in Turkish Delight.

Service Project
[Brandon's Mom 4/2] The group needs to decide on the service project(s) and dates and make sure that works with the parents.
Mariam4/3: So have we all agreed on meeting at emily's house for the bake sale? since we have that down... i think we should start planning the time and date of our bake sale. if we want to do any other service projects be sure to edit this section ASAP so all of us can orginize this easily.
Emily: Mariam, great idea i was thinking about what Grant said we could stuff bears for the homeless or kids in the hospital. also my mom says we can't sell at our street but just up the road ther is a store that my baby sitter carrie j. works at called Sandpiper. she will let us do it there. + it is a very busy place!
Mariam4/3: So we're all meeting at emily's house at 1:30 or at 2:00 (depending on what time you can make) on Sat. April 14
Emily: I might arrive late Latest at 1:45 because i have a horse show so don't complain if i come in dirty and smelling like a horse!
[brandon] We have agreed to come to my house on Monday, 4/9/07, at 1:30 pm. I have all the designs, materials, and other 'stuff' we are going to use. You just have to bring Emily to my house (see adress below).
Chariot Design
Mariam: We need to come up with a date for another "chariot in progress time". it sounds like we all have our mind set on easter monday?.this "chariot in progress time" will include spray painting the chariot. will we do it at Brandon's house? I've also heard that we're going to put a flag on our chariot. does everyone agree? if we do, then that'll be another priority for our next "chariot in progress time".
GRANT-I AM NOT FREE! [Brandon's Mom 4/2] The work on the chariot yesterday went very well. Thank you everyone! The next meeting will be on Monday April 9th at 1:30pm. Bring your swim suits for hot tub after. The group will paint the chariot, let it dry, and then apply any stickers you want. suggestions - "flames" on the side and the word, "CHIOS" letter stickers on the back. Brandon's parents will get all the paint. Everyone looks for appropriate stickers.
Mariam4/3: Sounds great. Are we going to paint the flames or put stickers on???
The word 'Chariot' comes from the Latin word 'Carrus'.
(Mariam's Mom 4/2): We had a great time working on the Chariot! Thanks so much for providing the place, material and expertise. Did you still want us to bring the trailer on 4/9? (Emily's Mom) see my comments above...Sorry we missed Sunday Emily had a horse show all day. You guys are doing such a great job!
T-Shirt Design
Assignment: create a T-shirt for your city-state.
[Brandon's mom:] The group will need to create a design for a t-shirt. I'm sure the teachers intend for this to be more than just all agreeing to wear a blue shirt. Check with Mrs. Burris. For design, you can use fabric paints to paint on t-shirts (shirts of any color), or you can create a design on the computer by grabbing images and adding text and then print it onto iron-on t-shirt transfers. Please discuss with the group. Add you comments here://Mariam: We'll have starfit blue t-shirts from walmart or target. then, on the front, we'll add iron on letters that spell out chios (obviously) and we'll put our own handprints on it. on the back, we'll have a special number that we chose ourselves, and our greek nick name (for example my nick name is Athena!)
Mariam 4/3:So now are we deciding on changing the t-shirt from starterfit to regular? Grant... u also said we could put a picture of something that had to do with the god or goddess we have, right? so since grant's Dionysus, she'll put something that has to do with acting or wine!
mariam4/2: aw... we'll need to find out a date when the majority of us is free INCLUDING GRANT!!! for the t-shirts because we're doing it at her house. so we've all agreed on having our # on the back of the t-shirt silver and our name in gold. what color are we doing for the name chios.

Grant- my mom said we could do the t-shirts at my house
Mariam4/2:that's great! what time and date r we talking. and guys i think grant's right. we've succeeded getting emily over 2 brandon's house but we need to be more open-minded and flexible so we can allow grant's tight scheduel into ours. grant... list all the dates u r free for anything. we'll take those dates and use them for our meetings. everyone chip in and tell each other what days we can come. we'll do the best we can on catching everyone up on everything if they missed a group meeting out of school. Since we all agreed on going to brandon's house on the sun. after easter from 12:00-3:00, i think we should make the flag at school since grant hasn't had a chance to make it to any of our meetings. Of course... we'll consult with mrs. burris before we do anything.
Grant- hey y'all! i AM free the saturday we talked about today and can get to the house at 12:00. i am also free the fiday before that saturday if that works out 4 anybody like we said 2day

[brandon] lol. The painting on Monday will take some time, because we will have to do multiple layers of paint and different colors. So we will probably be playing a lot of lasertag, nerf tag, etc. Mariam, bring your brother's nerf gun and any darts he has on Monday. And Grant, we're not purposely setting dates you can't come to, you just have a really tight schedule. We'll try and work that in (intergrate). Im just happy your not Grant Haley. His schedule's a nightmare. He has no free time. I'd go CRAAAAAZZZYYY! And Grant, yes I know you think I already am, but lets try not to diss eachother on the Wiki |:-] Again, make sure to bring your swimsuits on Monday. I'm planning a special party at the end of the Greek unit with you guys just to come over and swim, climb, etc. I still need permission, but Im hoping everyone can. We'll try extra-special hard to get everyone there ;)
Mariam 4/3: Sounds great. Brandon... i'll have to get permission from my brother if i can use his nerf gun and darts... if he says no, i guess we'll have to live with it! Guys i think we're doing a great job and we're working together better than average. We've made excelent progress and have done an almost perfect job on getting everyone together at one place... but it's not our falts... we all have different scheduals! Let me clarify... are we meeting at brandons house for a third time on friday the 13th for another chariot meeting so grant can help? it won't be fare if we don't because she says she really wants to be a part of the chariot and wants to do some serious building... right grant???
