"Covering fire" Serpent yelled, her 50 cal soon drowned out all other sound as she fired from her entrenched position. Soon all the rest of the Angels opened up with various heavy weapon's we had scavenged from the armory. The three man S&D squad barely flinched at the onslaught. One of the Super's stopped and fired a few burst's into the hidden Angels. I mentally went through all of our meeting's with the metal goliath's. They all added up to one thing. They couldn't fire those giant chaingun's while moving. They always had to brace themselves.

Rouge rose from the rubble where he had buried himself, chunks of debris falling from his frame as he sprinted towards the Super on the left. "Rouge." I yelled. I leaped from my hiding place on the second floor balcony of a nearby building. I slid my spike into the same joint. It slid pretty far in but in my haste to get their attention off Rouge I didn't put all my momentum behind it. The Super toppled, unready for my extra weight. I rolled off him and straight into the Flamers leg. He pointed his weapon at me but I kicked it upwards, the flame shooting just over my head. I pulled my self up and dove for Rouge's battered form. I pushed the detonator mid-dive and was propeled forward towards my target. I ignored the searing heat on my back and grabbed a hold of Rouge's shoulder, dragging him the last couple feet to cover.

I stood in the middle of the street watching the supers close in on the front lines. It was a slaughter. I wasn't allowed to help though. My orders were to not engage. I watched as a pair of flamers walked up to the entrenchment line and let loose a torrent of flame into the men hiding behind the sandbags and barbed wire. "But Sir the 100 yard protocal says....."

"I don't have time, they are breaking through, DO IT NOW."

"Yes sir."

Almost immeadeatly I heard the roar of a jet behind me. I watched the regs cringe at the sound of the engines and saw a pair of shadow's pass over me. Another 200 yards and then they opened up.
